JENNIFER HARRISON, ND, RN, BSN

I formed and founded Sparrow Community Naturopathic Clinic to share vitalistic naturopathic medicine with individuals in my community who are seeking to regain health and resilience. For me, studying naturopathic medicine was a pivotal point in my own journey towards wellness as well as in my growth as a healthcare provider. I love working with individuals of all ages, spending time with them, understanding what makes them unique, where the obstacles are that are preventing healing and wellness, and exploring what I can offer that will assist them in their journey. A large part of this is teaching and empowering individuals to understand the role they themselves play in their own healing journey.

Vitalistic naturopathic medicine operates on the belief that our bodies are designed to heal. Restoring health involves both identifying and removing those things that are preventing healing, as well as supporting an environment that allows for healing with the least force possible. I use a variety of methods to evaluate, support and treat individuals that include, but are not limited to: conventional and eclectic lab evaluation, individualized dietary guidance, constitutional homeopathy, herbal medicine, hydrotherapy, various hands-on methods of restoring balance to tissues, and nutritional supplements. I find this medicine is effective in both chronic and acute situations and I refer to other providers as indicated.

I first studied medicine at Calvin College, in Michigan, earning my Bachelors of Science in Nursing. I went on to work in a variety of settings as a nurse, all of which taught me a great deal about medicine, healthcare, people and myself. I learned about naturopathic medicine while still working as a nurse and decided to return to school at Bastyr University in Washington where I earned my doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine.  I am licensed as both a Naturopathic Doctor and a Registered Nurse in Washington state. I have gone on to receive additional education in homeopathy through the New England School of Homeopathy (NESH) as well as a variety of courses in herbal medicine, Craniosacral Therapy, and Visceral Manipulation. I am so grateful I get to do this work. I learn daily from my colleagues, my patients, my children, my community and the world around me. I look forward to working with you!
